Same granite. Arrive early, and the beach is yours.
The Baths is small. The trail through the boulders is a single file in places. When the first shore parties and the first shared boats hit the sand, the caves stop being a swim and become a queue.
The BVI has had record visitor years. A large share of those people are on ships. A large share of the ship excursions funnel to this one beach. Mid-morning to mid-afternoon is their window. Yours does not have to be.
Leave the night’s anchorage early. Be on a day-use ball before nine if one is left. Swim and walk Devil’s Bay while the granite is still yours. Eat breakfast back on the boat while the first tenders arrive. That sequence only works from the water. The ferry from Road Town will not put you on that clock.
We will not sell an 11 a.m. arrival as “the quiet Baths.” We will not land a tender under a red flag. We will not stay on a day-use ball overnight — the park does not allow it.
